The Youth Educational Forum has been implementing the Debate Program since the beginning of the organization, when in 1999 the Youth Educational Forum was first established under the name of the Association of Citizens “Debaters”. Today, the Debate program has 19 years of successful implementation at the national level, through debate clubs in several cities in North Macedonia.
The MOF debate program for the development of the ability to research, critical thinking, argumentative speaking and effective communication among young high school students and students from North Macedonia. By developing individual skills among young people, the Debate program increases their participation in social events. In this way, the educational process is improved and through the learning process, the basic values of the democratic society are supported.
The way of working within the Debate Program is based on the principle of active involvement of high school students and students in the learning process. The content of the program allows the students and students to practically apply and complement the knowledge acquired in the formal educational process and enrich their skills. Debate lectures are held once a week in debate clubs led by certified lecturers who have undergone training for debaters, lecturers and judges; they take place according to a set curriculum, which is periodically revised in accordance with the needs of the debaters and the international debate association.
On an annual level, the Debate Program in YEF trains more than 400 high school students, realizes dozens of public debates and tribunes, organizes 2 national debate tournaments, local and international tournaments. All members of the debate program are involved in the realization of the goals and activities.
